If Donald Trump wins, Democrats can blame identity politics and their inability to connect to what's important to everyday Americans.
Joe Biden checked boxes instead of resumes when he chose a vice president in 2020, and if we continue to work hard, it will cost his party dearly in 2024. The late Rush Limbaugh was so right when he said repeatedly that the Democrats “do not have a deep bench.”
Destructive far-left policies aside, Kamala Harris obviously is over-matched. She doesn’t have the executive chops to be leader of the free world. Her team’s failed and ever-changing campaign strategy reflects on her inability to lead. The Democrat brain trust knew her weaknesses all too well, but if they reduced the campaign window to a few weeks, maybe they could slide her in and block Trump.
They tried desperately to keep Harris in the “basement,” knowing when she entered the light, she’d hemorrhage votes. An increasing number of Americans see her as a flip-flopping phony. That is why her 2020 campaign for president never got off the ground. She was shredded by Tulsi Gabbard who called her a “dangerous hypocrite” who will “say and do whatever she is told to get elected.”
For Harris to call Trump a “fascist” or to liken him to “Hitler” only demonstrates the desperation of her campaign. She can’t answer questions, but she can call Trump names. You begin to ask yourself: “She is Vice President?” or “She was California’s Attorney General?”
Say what you want about Donald Trump, the man is authentic. He is a political Halley’s Comet, and if he prevails, it will rank among the two or three greatest personal American comebacks in our history.
Chris Christie: The former New Jersey Governor said Friday (Oct. 25), “Ten days ago I would’ve told you (Kamala Harris) is going to win. And I think she’s had a bad ten days.”
No endorsement here: Surprisingly, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and the Minnesota Star-Tribune will not endorse the Harris-Walz ticket.
An emerging slogan: “Kamala broke it, Trump will fix it.”
Why Madison Square Garden? Trump pollster John McLaughlin said, “When President Trump takes the stage at Madison Square Garden, he’s not just speaking to New Yorkers, he’s speaking to the nation. This is America’s most famous arena. It’s been the stage for presidents and champions. Sure, it’s in so-called deep blue New York and the media capital of the world. What better forum for President Trump to begin his closing argument in a neck-and-neck contest for the future of America and the world? We will be in the final nine days of the most important election since Abraham Lincoln was reelected in 1864. Only President Trump can command this moment in history. Only President Trump can make his case to restore America to peace and prosperity. Americans want an end to high inflation, high taxes, open borders, high crime, and to stop the endless wars. President Trump will speak directly to the voters in the most important political rally he has ever held. It’s a great way to begin the final week of this historic election for change."
Josh Hammer (RCP): “If there is one data point above all that suggests Donald Trump and JD Vance are headed for a resounding victory on Nov. 5, it is this: By a nearly 40-point margin in the polling average, Americans are more inclined to believe the country is currently on the wrong track than the right track.” … “But if Trump's campaign was already on the up and up, his brilliant, pitch-perfect stop to serve hamburgers and french fries (Oct. 20) at a Bucks County, Pennsylvania, McDonald's might have sealed the deal.”
Harris Faulkner: With his McDonald’s visit, “(Donald Trump) took all the Chicken Nuggets off (Kamala Harris’) plate.”
VDH (Oct. 25): “Voters see the election as a conflict of two absolutely antithetical visions. On the one hand, is the prior Trump 2017-20 concrete record: border security, no major wars abroad, calm in the Middle East, a deterred Russia, Iran, and China, low inflation, low interest rates, lower crime, lower taxes, strong deterrent military -- and opposition to mandatory electric vehicle mandates, biological males competing in women's sports, and the woke/DEI agenda. On the other hand, is the Biden-Harris 2021-2024 record: the unchecked entry of 12-20 million illegal aliens and a destroyed border. People still struggle under Biden-Harris's earlier hyperinflation and high interest rates. The horrific regional wars in Ukraine and the Middle East continue. Biden-Harris embraces the unpopular DEI/Woke agenda.”
Frank Luntz: “If Donald Trump wins, he will win because of the Latino vote.” Trump leads Harris 49-38 percent with Latino voters according to the most recent (Oct. 14-18) USA Today/Suffolk University.
Al Smith Dinner: Re VP Kamala Harris being absent, “The last Democrat not to attend this impartial event was Walter Mondale and it did not go very well for him. He lost 49 (states) and won one, Minnesota,” Donald Trump said.
Democrat Bob Casey, running for re-election to the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, has sided with Donald Trump in his latest TV ad because he needed to hedge his bet or risk losing. Several additional Democrats have done the same.
Make Pennsylvania’s Election Irrelevant: How great would it be if Trump could get to 270 without all of us having to wait on Pennsylvania delayed and final results?
Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin slammed a federal judge's ruling ordering Virginia to reinstate potentially 1,600 non-citizens to its state voter rolls on (Oct. 25), with just 10 full days until the election.
Carolina Journal from mid-September (Cygnal) polling: Hunt 1.5 points over Weatherman, Jackson 1.5 over Bishop, Boliek 0.6 over Holmes, Troxler 3.2 over Taber, Causey 1.4 over Marcus, Winston 0.4 over Farley, Marshall 1.7 over Brown, Green 4.1 over Morrow, and Briner 2.0 over Harris. A Sept. 23-26 East Carolina University poll has Stein 17.0 over Robinson.
I believe most of this polling is out the window at this point as all of it occurred before Hurricane Helene and Kamala’s October crash. There is no modeling for 2024 and if these pollsters knew then what we know now, these Council of State projections would be different. Republicans are outvoting Democrats 34.5-33.2 statewide (through Friday), while Unaffiliated voters break right. This bodes well for our entire slate of candidates.
Henderson County: With six days of Early Voting left, and scrambling to park cars and trucks to accommodate voters in Hendersonville, Henderson County is opening THREE more early-vote locations: Edneyville, Etowah, and Fletcher. They misjudged the AMAZING turnout.
Transylvania: With 9 of 15 days of Early Voting complete, Republicans have outvoted Dems 3,903-2,839. Unaffiliated voters lead the way at 5,015. With nearly 27,000 registered voters in the county, our goal of 80% turnout is within reach. From 21,081 Unaffiliated and Republican voters, 80% would be 16,865 – and we are more than halfway there (8,918, 52.9%)!
